Back at it again with some trendy eats, Chicago!

A bit of a smaller list this month because I was busy hitting up the street food options at Lollapalooza, but here are some of my new favorite spots for drinks and all the noms your heart desires.

Lunch/Dinner Eats

// Mahalo
1501 N Milwaukee Ave, Chicago, IL 60622 || $$

This tropical escape in the heart of Chicago's hip Wicker Park neighborhood is a breath of fresh air. Their menu offers Hawaiian fusion eats and a selection of refreshing tropical cocktails. The decor is vibrant, with tropical prints and neon signs. Take things outdoors to their breezy rooftop lounge! This place's fun and trendy ambiance can't be matched, and it's a great place to beat the summer heat.

// Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba
2024 N Halsted St, Chicago, IL 60614 || $$

After eating my way through Seville and Barcelona last summer, I am always down for a good tapas restaurant that captures the spirit of Spain. Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba is a tapas, pintxos and sangria hotspot in Lincoln Park. Definitely include the patatas bravas in your tapas choices, and I highly recommend the blackberry sangria!

Sweet (Tr)eats

// Magnolia Bakery
108 N State St, Chicago, IL, 60602 || $

Two words: banana. pudding. Yeah okay sure, their cupcakes and other pastries look hella good too, but seriously, their banana pudding takes me back to my days growing up in the South and it cannot be beat.

Drinks/Happy Hour

1816 N Clark St, Chicago, IL 60614 || $$

There is literally nothing better than happy hour on a rooftop in the city during the summer. I should start a new post series entitled Best Rooftops of Chicago, because the hunt is always on and I will not say no to a rooftop bar. Needless to say, the J. Parker is a great one. With views overlooking Lake Michigan and Lincoln Park and the skyline looming in the distance, its a great place to grab drinks after work and watch the sun go down.

Tune in next month for more trendy eats, Chicago!

XOXO, J
